#1675 - 5.6" x 2.6" Wide Hardstone Hopewell Celt

Description - This Middle Woodland (100 BC - 500 AD) Era Hopewell Culture Celt is made from a black hardstone with green and tan infusions. The entire piece is polished. This is a magnificent relic. There is one area that may be natural (from the period) that looks like a scrape on one side.

Size - The bit is 2.6" wide and the poll end is 1.6" wide. Thickest area is 1.15" thick.

Provenance - Found in Pike Co. Illinois. ex.Sanders-IN; ex.Schwartz-IN collections.
